The original design for this mug is in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Eric Ravilious (1903 - 1942) originally designed it in 1937, and it was used for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
It was a commission from Wedgewood. It is earthenware, transware printed in black and then enameled in colours. Ravilious is one of my favourite artists, and this piece is now highly sort after.
In very good condition.
